Ultimately,
human civilization will come crashing down because of the lies humans
have told themselves. As T. S. Eliot predicted, the crash will occur not
as the result of some apocalyptic catastrophe, but rather from the
disappearance of commonplace things like the water and air needed to
keep us alive. You might remember his phrase: not with a bang, but with a whimper.
I
think of the big lies that our crumbling future is about to expose, and
can't quite decide which one was the biggest, or which one actually
brought us past the point of no return. I only know we've passed it, and
the whole world is about to experience the painful penalty for its
series of cowardly self-deceptions. Buddha claimed that all human life
was misery, and now we are about to see the worst of it . . . as our
future vanishes.
Sometimes
I think it's the lie we went to the moon that really signaled the end
of human civilization and vividly illustrated the ultimate irrelevance,
inauthenticity and insincerity of the human species. Now that even the
government has admitted humans cannot survive the fatal radioactivity of
the Van Allen belts, those moon trips linger in our memory as sad
folktales, cobwebbed and bogus, from which no future narrative may
proceed. Even as our culture is beguiled by rapturous fantasies of space
travel and beings from other worlds, there is no going forward from
this widely believed lie.
This
is much like the false flag fabrication of 9/11, in which the lie that
was spun can produce no authentic action following it, but only a
continuation of the original misrepresentation, to wit, all these bogus
wars and terror alerts that have since occurred being dependent on the
original lie. The so-called Holocaust of World War 2 is another example
of this; the original event never happened but disfigured and defective
human history proceeds as if it did.
Then
at other times I lurch backwards to the mysterious foundation of the
religion that captivated much of the known world, the creation of
Christianity by a clever Jew who was smitten by a diabolical plan to
sabotage the Roman empire on the road to Damascus. The promise of
eternal life with no strings attached proved irresistible to the
gullible human race even as the promise turned into the greatest
totalitarian mindlock ever conceived and for centuries has murdered
people in the most horrible fashion for not consenting to believe it.
In
these final hours of the human species we finally realize that
immunizing ourselves against death with fanciful but nebulous fairy
tales of eternal life actually poisoned our relations with the Earth and
each other, and guaranteed that we would ultimately kill ourselves by
failing to understand the inescapable limitations and requirements of
our mortality.
But
also in these final chapters of a terribly flawed species the certainty
of near term extinction provides at least a glimpse of how we should
have lived all those millennia — and how we should live now! — by
realizing that our days have always been numbered and that we've wasted
most of them by thinking that they were not.
You
see, to suffer from the delusion that a few magic words guarantee your
eternal existence means that every decision you make in this life will
be wrong, and you will murder women and babies who don't need to die to
defend your own delirious dementia. How many Muslim beheadings, Jewish
poisonings of wells or Christian massacres of unsophisticated natives do
we need to realize this?
Apparently
the visceral desire for self deception is much more powerful than the
obvious logic of consensual observation, so the sanctimonious murders
continue at the same pace as the thoughtless destruction of our
environment and the continuing extinction of our fellow species.
And
the inverse corollary of these divine delusions becomes a stonewalled
ignorance of what the planet has been telling us, the measurable effects
of our carelessness and the damage it has done to the Earth, to the

The
general consensus among scientists not on the payroll of mainstream
bureaucrats is that each year will continue to get warmer than the
previous year until all the vegetation is burned up, all the food is
gone and we can no longer breathe. Humans cannot survive in a wet bulb

The
unadorned fact tonight is that NOAA (the National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Adminstration) has declared June 2015 as the hottest month

Amid
an epidemic of spontaneous forest fires all across the Russian taiga
and Canada's Northwest Territories, the furious melting of the Arctic
ice and disturbingly tropical temperatures in an exceedingly odd Alaskan
spring, this declaration has been backed up by NASA and Japan's
Meteorological Agency, leading to the inescapable realization that from
now on, each month will be hotter than the last, very soon to be hotter
than we can stand, and shortly after that, hotter than we can survive.
Unavoidable path to destruction
The
two main actors and schools of thought about the accelerating demise of
the viability of life on Earth both agree that near term human
extinction is the likely outcome of current conditions, but they differ
on one important point. One of them believes there's still a chance to
fix the problem, while the other does not.
Dane Wigington, well known creator of geoengineeringwatch.com,
believes that a "Venus syndrome" — in which the temperature of the
Earth will soon rise to rival our nearest solar system neighbor — is the
key element in creating conditions that will not allow the human race
and all other life to survive much longer.
But
he blames the problem on "atmospheric saturation with geoengineering
nano particles, and the ever more apparent jet stream manipulation with
ionosphere facilities like HAARP, are literally decimating the Earth's
life sustaining systems."
The
other school of thought is ably articulated by Guy McPherson, the
renegade professor who quit the University of Arizona to live in a mud
hut and now tours the world describing how the human species is going to
reach its end. The scariest part of his deliberations is that near term
extinction for all life on Earth will happen much sooner than we think,
and worst of all, that there is no way to stop a rapid rise in
temperature that one day soon will make the planet uninhabitable for all

I
first perceived this major clash from Wigington's report of a meeting
between the two in March 2005 when McPherson rejected geoengineering
data and any other arguments relating to climate engineering. <http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org/a-meeting-with-scientist-guy-mcpherson/> According to Wigington, McPherson referred to the geoengineering phenomenon as a "flying spaghetti monster".
In
any case, McPherson has been touring the world with his apocalyptic
message that we all ought to be prepared to be fried to a crisp and
there's nothing we can do about it, perhaps as soon as in the next ten

Wigington
clings to the belief that if geoengineering can be completely stopped,
there is still a remote chance to save humanity. "Our planet is in total meltdown, the ongoing global geoengineering programs are making the situation far worse, not better. Rapidly thawing global methane deposits will very soon determine our collective fate if the releases continue."
McPherson
references Malcolm Light's 2012 assessment that only a complete
stoppage of human civilization can arrest the planet's race toward
complete heat death, but even if this impossible scenario happens, that
would mean all the nuclear plants on Earth would eventually explode,
leading to a very similar conclusion to human folly. So given this
conundrum, McPherson is a fatalist about the certainty of near term
human extinction.
At
the other end of ecological speculation are those who believe the
opposite is happening to the world, that we might be on the verge of a
"Little Ice Age." Earlier this month, astrophysicists in Britain
reported:
“Our
planet is just 15 years from a new ‘mini ice age’ that could cause
extremely cold winters characterized by the freezing of normally
ice-free rivers as well as by year-round snow fields in areas that have
never witnessed such climate conditions before, a group of
astrophysicists claim.
The
scientists drew this conclusion based on a new model of the sun’s
activity that reportedly enables the researchers to make “extremely
accurate predictions” of changes in solar activity.”
The
study findings were presented at the National Astronomy Meeting on July
9 and published in the Royal Astronomical Society papers. Their new
model based suggests we will see the conditions last experienced during
what was called the Maunder minimum, 370 years ago.
The
Maunder minimum is a name of a period between 1645 and 1715
characterized by prolonged low solar activity as well as by extremely
cold winters in Europe and North America at the heart of the climatic
period between 1550 and 1850 called the ‘Little Ice Age.’
Dr. Habibullo Abdussamatov who heads Russia’s prestigious Pulkovo Observatory in St. Petersburg warned in a 2013 paper
that: “after the maximum of solar Cycle-24, from approximately 2014, we
can expect the start of the next bicentennial cycle of deep cooling
with a Little Ice Age.”
However, most environmentalists totally disagree with this assessment.
“Even
if you do go into Maunder minimum conditions it’s not going to combat
global warming, the sun’s not going to save us,” said the lead author of
a study that predicted the Sun's quiescence would have a only moderate
effect on the overheating Earth. (The Maunder minimum is the name for

Others frankly belittle predictions of future cooling. (Note: underlines below are links.)
U.K. tabloids, conservative media, and others are (mis)reporting that the Earth will enter a “mini ice age” in the 2030s. In fact, not only is the story wrong, the reverse is actually true.
The Earth is headed toward an imminent speed-up in global warming, as many recent studies have made clear, like this June study by NOAA. Indeed, a March study,
entitled “Near-term acceleration in the rate of temperature change,”
makes clear that a stunning acceleration in the rate of global warming
is around the corner — with Arctic warming rising 1°F per decade by the
2020s!
Also,
right now, we appear to be in the midst of a long-awaited jump in
global temperatures. Not only was 2014 the hottest year on record, but
2015 is in the process of blowing that record away. On top of that, models say a massive El Niño is growing, as USA Today reported last week.
Since El Niños tend to set the record for the hottest years (since the
regional warming adds to the underlying global warming trend), if
2015/2016 does see a super El Niño then next year may well crush the
record this year sets.
So,
somewhat confused by these diametrically opposed scientific
predictions, I fall back on a long ago learned concept courtesy of the
German mystic Rudolf Steiner that our Sun is a living being which has
decided to turn down the temperature because at the present time, the
Earth is visibly on fire and it needs to be cooled down as quickly as
possible.
Whether this will happen in time to save life on Earth is very much in doubt at this time.
We are all trapped in our own self-importance from seeing reality as it actually is.
If
we take the time to listen to the Earth, what we see and hear is that
all the animals— from the moose to the starfish — are dying, and
virtually the entire expanse of the extreme Northern Hemisphere is on
